Knowing your answer and saying it clearly out loud are different things. These questions are for practising the spoken part.

How to practise

    Use STAR for “tell me about a time”

    Situation and Task in two sentences, most of your time on Action, and always end with a Result — ideally a number.

  2. 2

    Two minutes is a ceiling

    Most answers should land between 60 and 120 seconds. If you run out of time, your Situation was too long.

  3. 3

    Practise your five core stories

    A handful of well-practised stories can answer most behavioral questions. Retry them until they are tight.

Set the scene, say what you were responsible for, spend most of your time on what you did, and finish with a measurable result.

Example answer to “Tell me about a time you met a tight deadline.”

What is the STAR method?+

Situation, Task, Action, Result. It keeps behavioral answers structured and makes sure you finish with an outcome.

How long should interview answers be?+

Usually one to two minutes. “Tell me about yourself” should be around 60–90 seconds.
